the use of pre-made kit parts nor the use
of automatic machinery such as CNC.

That really depends on the maker.  In most cases
greater care is taken at each step of the process
resulting in a better fit and finish.

Yes, they are.  These knives are what is referred
to as "sole authorship" meaning that every part of
the knife is made by hand by Brian and all processes
including heat treating are performed "in-house" by Brian.

I like to make the comparison to automobiles.
Some folks don't mind riding to work in rusty
old jalopies while others prefer the comfort of
a Lincoln Continential.  Does the knife make
the man?  You have to decide that for yourself.
